Surgical Services

Windham Animal Hospital offers a wide range of surgical procedures, from routine spays and neuters to lump removals, fracture repair to orthopedic surgeries. We accept surgery appointments weekdays, and request drop-off between 7:30 AM and 8:15 AM. Most pets are required to fast from 8 PM the night before (just like humans having surgery). We recommend pre-surgical testing for all patients undergoing anesthesia, and it is required for pets which are aged 7 years or older. Few surgical patients need to stay overnight - with the specially formulated pain management protocol our doctors will recommend for your pet, we expect him or her to be comfortable at home in familiar surroundings with TLC from you. We will ask you to fill out some paperwork - such as a consent form, emergency contact numbers, an estimate, etc. (check out our FORMS section of this website). Your pet will go home with printed discharge instructions and a post-op plan for you. We encourage you to call us 24/7 if you have any concerns after your pet's surgery - your pet's safety and comfort are important to us.
